Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at dvance@vance.law if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Remote estate planning allows you to create and manage your estate plan from the comfort of your home. Using video conferencing, secure document sharing, and mobile notary services, we handle everything without the need for in-person meetings.

The process includes an initial consultation via phone or video call, the drafting of documents, review sessions through online meetings, and the final signing of documents using mobile notary services, electronic signature tools or by mail.

During the initial consultation, we will discuss your estate planning goals, review your assets and family situation, and outline the best options for your estate plan. This is a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have.  If your case is probate, we will review the Decedent’s Will and walk you through the complex court process and requirements.

Yes! Using the same tools and processes as remote estate planning.

Yes! The services, diligence and competence that our team provides is the same for both our remote and in person clients!

NO! Where a home computer or laptop certainly makes things easier, a simple smart phone can be sufficient.  However, for best services you will need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access, and a camera and microphone for video calls. We also use secure platforms for document sharing and electronic signatures, which are easy to access and use.

Documents can be scanned and uploaded through the use of your smartphone or computer directly into our secure client portal.  We use encrypted and secure document-sharing platforms to ensure your information remains confidential. All communications and file transfers are protected with industry-standard security measures.  Our staff can walk you through this process.  Of course, there is always good old fashion paper and the postal service.

Depending on the type of case you have, we may be able to appear for you or help you arrange a remote appearance.  Our attorneys can help you with this if a court appearance is necessary.

We are knowledgeable about state-specific estate planning laws and ensure that all documents meet the legal requirements of your jurisdiction, even when done remotely.

Yes, remote services can handle both simple and complex estates. We provide comprehensive services, including Probate, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and more, tailored to your specific needs.

Not a problem! Our staff will walk you through the use of technology so that your experience is pleasant and successful.

If you encounter any technical issues, our team is here to help. We can guide you through the technology or offer alternative solutions to ensure the process runs smoothly.

You can easily schedule a consultation by contacting us through our website, phone, or email. We offer flexible appointment times to accommodate your schedule.
